Technology

IHA has taken a bold step in integrating technology into the curriculum. In the Fall of 2011, the incoming freshman class of 2015 was the first class to use MacBook Pro laptops purchased through the school, as IHA makes the transition to the Mac platform. All upper classmen will continue to use their Lenovo ThinkPad laptops as IHA gradually changes to Macs. The entire faculty and student body use laptops in the classroom as an integrated part of their school day. Coupled with the wireless network that spans the entire school, all teachers have the ability to incorporate Internet and online resources into the daily classwork.

All faculty members have "teacher pages" that contain curriculum, assignments, and appropriate resources for all grades. All classrooms have a projector that connects to the laptop, in addition to other media devices. Many SmartBoards are also in classrooms to enhance the learning experience for the students, making the learning process more interactive for all.

In August of 2011, IHA launched this brand new web site! Site visitors can enjoy an innovative design while browsing through important and useful information about the academy. Students, parents, faculty, staff, and alumnae are able to log on to the site, using a user name and password, for further information personalized to their specific IHA interests.
